I have never gone anywhere and not found someone on that site who wouldn't go down on their listed price. So tell them this is all you can afford due to x (ex: being a single Dad, grandmother's operation, starting college to be a pastor) but also tell them what a nice family you are, how you love their beautiful home and will take good care of it, etc. Throw in that you hope to refer people to them and if true, you may come back on a yearly basis and be return renters.
